After two months of hard working, I released Cosmos 4
And now here are the reasons for using it:
One: Design meets functionality
I wanted to recreate the idea of "Cosmos". I tried to use in the other versions, but Cosmos 4 has entrenched idea of it. The wallpapers, the style of how you interact with it. It's made just to be easy to learn how to use it. Everything is natural and the design looks great, but also you are able to learn instantly how to use it and how to work with it.
On Cosmos 4 you can use multitasking - it's an innovation because, with the other version, you could not do two things at the same time. Working is a pleasure with Cosmos 4 now!
I created more interface settings so you can personalize everything - not just the background - I added a new gadget, an analog clock, and more things you can change: dock color, for example.
I also added more shortcuts from keyboard, such as F10 opens Facebook, or F2 opens WordPad.
Two: Improvements of the applications
Of course, this is the most important part of the upgrading process of Cosmos 4.
I improved the quality and the functionality of the applications you can use. They work faster and better, and as I said earlier, with multitasking - something that has never been done before on any version of Cosmos.
I put all the shortcuts to each application on a dock, as a simple dock on the bottom of the desktop, so you can acces them quickly and easily. Also you can see there which applications are open.
The Calculator is more accurate. In DrawPad we added more colors to use to draw. You can access a photo or a video in Full Screen, but also you have the "mini" version: Mini Media Player, Mini Photo Viewer.
I added more internet shortcuts: eBay, tumblr., Wikipedia, New York Times and Octisoft Webpage.
The Internet Browser works better. However, you can still have problems with tumblr. But if you recieve Java Script Errors, just close them - ignore them. I am sorry for this, but there's nothing I can do about it. It's just a software problem caused by Visual Basic 2008, and I can't change anything. However, the following versions of Cosmos probably will be made in Visual Basic 2012, the newest version made by Microsoft.
Three: Built to perform
Cosmos 4 occupy less space and has more functions, as presented above. It was built for performance at low-specifications, so anyone can enjoy it, no matter how powerful is the computer they use. 512 MB of RAM is enough for Cosmos 4 to work properly, and it works on every OS ( from Windows 95 to Windows 8 and Mac's - including Mac OS X Mountain Lion).
Cosmos 4 has a security document in the installer, so Windows/Mac can see where this app comes from and your security defender won't tell you "software may be malicious" as it did in the previous versions. It's safe to download and install it. Easier to run, easier to use, easier to enjoy!
